Who are we?

Knowing Israel is a new, non-profit project dedicated to offering young European journalists the opportunity to learn more about Israel through first-hand experiences.

What is our goal?

The goal of Knowing Israel is to help ensure that young talented European opinion-makers have access to a balanced perspective on Israel's politics and culture. Knowing Israel seeks to expose young European journalists to Israel's cultural diversity and unique security situation. By creating a platform for exchange and debate regarding the subject, we hope to contribute to a fair representation of issues involving Israel and the Middle Eastern conflict.

Who do we want to reach?

Our participants are young (25-40 years old), gifted journalists who have never been to Israel before and are engaged in shaping public opinion through television, radio, print, and online media. Our delegates do not need to be experts on the Middle East and Israel, but we hope to cultivate new talent.

What do we offer?

Knowing Israel's annual program includes two study tours of two different and small groups of journalists. The 5-day-study tours include Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, and a helicopter flight over Southern Israel. We focus on Israel's multi-ethnic society, economy, culture, media landscape, and unique security concerns. Our participants will receive briefings by leading politicians and prominent experts on Israeli society and culture.
